Open the doors of your heart
by Heather
Open the doors of your heart.
The moment I heard this during meditation this past week, I knew it would be the theme of my next SoulCollage card.
Today I started looking through the many door images I’ve collected, pulling a few, but nothing really resonating yet. I realized I needed a background image, and that’s when I found these beautiful vintage elevator doors. This one resonated.
“Those are some serious doors,” I thought. Indeed they are. Certain kinds of upbringings come with inevitable consequences of one kind or another, in my view. I’ve written before about releasing bitterness; this image confronted me with another consequence: guardedness.
I know that the time has come to throw those doors open for good. I truly don’t need them anymore.
I am working with this now and it isn’t easy! Have you ever read Pema Chödrön?

A little bit 🙂 I subscribe to Shambhala Sun, so I’ve read articles there and in other magazines, but not a whole book 🙂 Do you have one you like?
I think it helps to work directly with your heart chakra. You can use a crystal to clear it (like a glass prismatic sphere), and I also use a guided meditation … let me find the link to my post about that … here it is (I see you liked it, so you’ve seen it before :)): https://aboutwhatmatters.wordpress.com/2014/04/13/how-to-look-younger/

Right now I am rereading The Wisdom of No Escape which seems to be just what I need. The first one I read Comfortable with Uncertainty. I believe she has some newer work I’ve not read yet

It’s so wonderful to find just exactly the book you need ❤ I know she has written a book about how to meditate …

What a beautiful image! It is qutie a big thing to open the heart after years of guarding it. I love how you’ve shown the light within and the crystals of love waiting. 🙂

Thank you … and I love ‘the crystals of love waiting’ 🙂 It wasn’t really intentional, but I noticed as I put the finishing touches on the collage that I’d included a single heart, a pair, and a chain … representing all the different types of love and connection.
